There were worst. The "ILoveYou" worm in 2000 and the "Slammer" worm in 2003 were globally felt. Viruses and Worms have been around since 1994. The biggest "oops" one was the worm Lotus had encrypted in its software trying to protect itself from being pirated. It had also accidentally destroyed the data of legitimate owners as well because of flawed programming.
When they do this, and they’ll create some sort of disaster in order to get it done (and blame it on whites and republicans), my hope is that there will be some sort of underground economy that develops, perhaps using junk silver or other valuable commodities that can facilitate trade.
